Gloria Meehan is a Texan and a small business owner, who lives and works in Comal County. Five generations of Gloria’s family, including her mother and father, are military veterans who have proudly served our country. Growing up in a military family meant constant travel. Gloria attended seventeen schools before she graduated high school, attended community college, then a four-year university where she earned a degree in Corporate Communications.
While Gloria has called Texas her home for nearly three decades, during the family’s military travels, Gloria met a lot of people and learned about the world. This unique perspective taught Gloria that to succeed one must be able to listen and learn from others’ perspectives, adjust to any situation, and understand how to overcome obstacles.
After nearly 20 years managing information systems and 15 years working with architects, engineers, and construction (A/E/C) managers, Gloria launched a start-up in Canyon Lake, Texas to help qualified small and minority-owned A/E/C firms compete and win contracts that were typically awarded to larger corporations.
Prior to her career in the A/E/C industry, and managing information systems, Gloria also worked early in the wireless telecommunications sector in training and development where she was simultaneously awarded “Employee of the Year” and “Service Legend” for her exceptional communication skills and “can do” attitude.
Living and working in this semi-rural area of South Central Texas, Gloria recognizes Comal County is changing, yet she holds a deep respect for the traditions and history of this special place in Texas Hill Country. Gloria is ready, willing and able to work to strengthen the community, help to create common sense policies, and put the unity back in community!
